Sarkar - review.

There are umpteen movies based on underworld by Ram gopal verma. Satya, Company, D and now Sarkar. The same cast, same setup, low lightining, few dialogues, simple shoot and kill (no blood) and a heavy back ground music.Technically sarkar is not an underworld movie. Amitabh is this goonda who does not do any business that would harm his people, but kills and threatens if people dont listen to him.
There are a couple of things said about the movie.
First that it was a remake of godfather. I think so. Abhishek Bacchhan=Al Pacino and Amitabh Bacchhan=Marlon Brando. Amitabh bacchhan is not so impressive. We already have an overdose of this old man. I dont want to watch him in every movie. Here he is in a total shabarimalay dress. There was somthing about him that you would dislike in the movie. Am not able to figure out what. Abhishek Bacchhan is very good. He is as stylish as Al Pachino. As usual, Mohan lal is fantastic. His accent and his clear slow way of speaking- O man!!
Second, it is based on Bal Thackrey's life. Rubbish. Only because Amitabh has a rudrakhi mala and speaks a couple of dialogues in marathi, it does not make him Bal thackerey.

All in all it is a good movie. You would like it if you watch it. But will not miss it if you dont. As far as I am concernd, this is the last ramgopal verma underworld movie I am going to watch.
