Sanjay Dutt's sentence once again calls into question the credibility of the Indian justice system. Sanjay Dutt possessed arms and involved a few others in destroying the AK56. This is an offence. But it has taken the courts 14 years before they give Sanjay Dutt 6 year imprisonment.
In these 14 years Sanjay has repented enough for his act, helped the police and the CBI with their investigation, and behaved well during his bail time. He did not go undergroud or continue his possession of arms or maintain his links with the underworld. Are all these not considered?
Not fair. Sajnay Dutt should have been punished for his offence, but in time.

Thank heavens he got sentenced. I'm sure 80% of those not part of organized crime, regret their acts after they've done it. If people start getting mercy on these grounds .. god only can save us.

Do u know this? Sanjay Dutt used 14 yrs for getting away with his crime. Sunil Dutt had approached Mumbai Police Commissioner to move Sanjay's case from a TADA court to a regular court. But he was unsuccessful. Politicians across political spectrum were approaching to influence the verdict. Even BalaSaheb was approached. Just because Sanjay acted in Lage Raho does make him a Gandhigiri. According to me, he shud b happy that he got just 6 yrs of imprisonment.

So Avi should be jailed right away for his crime lest it become too late to jail him. :-)
It takes time in the Indian Justice System especially if both Parties are willingly trying to delay the inevitable.
