walking the green mile

It is always difficult to walk the green mile. Today is our implementation and we are just waiting for the clients to say "Looks good". The wait seems too long and hard.
I wish there was a time machine that would just transport us into Tuesday and everything looks fine and dandy. Then life moves on.

This feeling of walking the last mile was almost forgotten. The last time I was so nervous was during my II PUC physics exam. I remember I had not slept the previous night!

Till the last week we were all cool and comforatble. But suddenly this implementation seems too hard and slow. Like the vodka, it hits at the last moment. Nonetheless, everyone enjoys it :-). We have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Not for the implementation to happen but for the implementation to get over. Just to take a breather. About the other avinash (my PL), this project is the biggest thing he has done, and I should tell you, happen what may with the client check out, we know that he has been nothing less than fantastic. We call him the "karta dharta" of our project. Rest of us did what we were asked to do.
That brings me to my next quandary, if I only did what I was asked to do, then how proud should I feel about the project? I am sure everyone would get an appreciation mail for all the hard work in the project. But at the end of the day we all know who deserves it. You know what I mean.
I think the client is back and seems happy, I can hear the laughter!!
Signing off!!

  • So dude, how did the project release go? Would you be coming back if it is implemented successfully?
