Dream Destination - Bangalore

Dream Destination - Bangalore. As I sit outside at 6pm Wednesday may 17, 2006 , it is raining heavily. Having been in Bangalore for more than 20 years now, I am used to the rains. Nevertheless, the beauty of these rains never fails to capture my imagination. I am sitting here sipping on a hot cup of tea and a pack of Lays - Spanish Tomato Tango and it is raining hail stones. As a look out of the gate, the roads seem dark and deserted. There is no power. The water is flowing down in small streams along the side of the road. A couple of people are walking down the road with umbrellas attempting to keep them from getting wet. A lone light from the grocery store from the end of the road is shining brightly. I can hear the sounds of thunder followed by the water trickling down into the garden from the terrace. It gives me a feeling of a hill station that is protected from all the commercialization. I know that once I get out of the house and hit the main road, the water clogged roads and the unsolvable traffic jams await me. I don’t want to be there. It is so peaceful and serene in here. There are times when the beauty of nature consumes the sorrow in you, and leaves your mind happy and peaceful. I know that this is a futile attempt of putting in words about what I am feeling.

Ps: posted after power was restored :)
